Who We Are
Our Congregation is part of the world’s oldest continuing Pentecostal denomination, the Church of God, with international headquarters in Cleveland, Tennessee. This international organization operates over 5,000 churches in the United States and remains one of the fastest-growing denominations in the world.
Our Congregation here at Velvet Ridge is the oldest continuing operational Church of God in Arkansas. It opened its door in 1921 and has served this community of Velvet Ridge faithfully. Our purpose is to Minister to YOU!
Within our reach is a full spectrum of exciting opportunities for involvement. Activities designed for all ages and special interest groups are provided.
What we are trying to do is fulfill the challenge of Christ and share His love with others. Sharing in spiritual growth and caring for those who are in need provides our church family with a sense of meaning and purpose.
Our doors are open to people of all backgrounds. Regardless of your need, we stand with open arms to assist you in finding answers to your problems. Through the study of God’s Word, worship, and the experience of our faith, we provide an opportunity for others to join us as we grow in Christ.
Reaching and helping others is an opportunity to make our homes, communities, and the world a better place to live, work and raise our children.
The Velvet Ridge Church of God is a multi-person, spirit-filled Christian Congregation consisting of people of all ages. From children to youth, adults to seniors, families to singles – we have ministries designed to help you grow in your relationship with Christ.
Although our church is an older church, we have not forgotten where we have come from. We’re excited about our vision, mission, and future. We hope and pray that we will make an impact in your life.
We pray that you will be blessed by today. We pray that if you come to our services, you will feel God and have a wonderful experience in the service. We pray you will be inspired to a deeper level of knowing and serving our Lord.
If you would like, come and be a part of our church. We would love to have you and your family be a part of our family.
